Heading into the 2018 season, Alabama DL Raekwon Davis was supposed to dominate. It was his turn to take over as the Crimson Tide’s standout pass rusher, but instead, Quinnen Williams filled that role.

Davis struggled in his 14 games, recording only 1.5 sacks (to go with 55 tackles, 5.5 of which were for a loss).

Once projected to be a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Davis announced on Wednesday night that he’ll instead return to Alabama for his senior season, as you can see in the tweet below:

Davis has a world of talent and an NFL body, but he needs to get back to his 2017 level of production, and he’ll try to do that next fall. That year, he had 69 tackles (10 for a loss) and 8.5 sacks.

However you look at it, though, he’ll provide a veteran presence along the Tide’s defensive front next fall, and that’s something to be excited about.
