Alabama flips commitment from former Texas WR pledge
Steve Sarkisian may have just indirectly landed Alabama another commitment.
Former Texas commit Aeryn Hampton flipped his pledge to Alabama Wednesday on the first day of the Early Signing Period. Hampton’s decision to flip comes just minutes after 5-star Ryan Wingo kept to his word and committed to the Longhorns after late pushes from Mizzou and Nebraska. It’s worth noting there had been some buzz that Hampton was planning to flip heading into Wednesday.
Hampton, a wide receiver out of Daingerfield, Texas, had been committed to Texas since August. The 4-star prospect is an insane athlete and a top 250 recruit in the Class of 2024.

Hampton took multiple visits to Tuscaloosa this past season and was present for the Tide’s battle against LSU. He’s the 4th WR commitment for Nick Saban and Co. this cycle, joining Amari Jefferson, Ryan Williams and Rico Scott.
