Alabama went with a creative marketing approach ahead of the Rose Bowl to hire a skywriter to send messages above the Rose Bowl.
“WHERE LEGENDS ARE MADE” and “ROLL TIDE ROLL” were clearly visible in white in the California blue sky as the Crimson Tide gets set to face Michigan on Saturday.
Sending messages like that are customary for the bluest of the bluebloods, as both teams can lay claim to that in the Rose Bowl.
Michigan and Alabama are the two winningest programs in college football. The Wolverines have won 1,002 games, followed by the Crimson Tide with 965.
This is the Crimson Tide’s first Rose Bowl game in Pasadena since 1946. They defeated Notre Dame in a 2021 CFP semifinal played in Arlington, Texas, because of the pandemic.

Michigan hasn’t won a national championship since 1997, while Alabama is seeking its 7th title under coach Nick Saban and has been victorious in the semifinal in 6 of 7 CFP appearances. Saban won his first championship with the Crimson Tide in the 2010 BCS title game in Pasadena, California.
