A Hofstra transfer and former CAA Player of the Year has committed to Alabama.

The Crimson Tide has secured the services of guard Aaron Estrada. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Estrada announced his new home on Saturday.

Estrada announced his commitment to Alabama over offers from multiple schools, including Kansas State, Florida State and Cincinnati. He joins Wichita State’s Jaykwon Walton as the second transfer this season for the Crimson Tide.

Estrada credited Alabama head Coach Nate Oats as the reason he chose the Crimson Tide, via On3Sports.

“I think (Nate) Oats is a great coach and they really made me and my family feel comfortable on my visit. I knew I wanted to go there as soon as they contacted but I was waiting to see if the basketball fit made sense for me and it did. I like the culture they have and their style of play matches mine. Coach Oats does well with player development and getting there guys to the next level and that’s my ultimate goal”

Estrada made 31 starts for Hofstra, averaging 20.2 ppg this past season. He also made 5.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game. In his sophomore season, Estrada started 32 games, finishing the season with 18.5 ppg, 5.7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
