Kenyan Drake, who recently suffered a season ending injury in the game against Ole Miss, uploaded an inspiring picture to his Instagram account with the following message:

“These are Beads of Courage. Each bead has a meaning. I wore one of them for you while I was in the hospital for chemo. It is the red and white one. I have lots of them and it makes me feel strong. Hope it does the same to you.” Love, Fuller Goldsmith RTR

Fuller Goldsmith is 11 years old and is going through his 3rd round of chemotherapy. He visited practice today to give me a personal note which is the quote above and Beads of Courage. Every bead tells a story of hope, strength and courage because nothing can change who you are. No matter what happens, no matter how your body changes as you go through your treatment, YOU will always be YOU. Fuller’s strength is a true inspiration and I will always remember this moment on my road to recovery. To find more info about Beads of Courage visit the website: www.beadsofcourage.org

Kudos to Kenyan Drake for using the stage he is on to encourage others who are going through a life-changing injury/illness, including the very brave Fuller Goldsmith. Some things are bigger than the game on the field.
