Alabama is in the process of getting its 2025 recruiting class finalized. The Early Signing Period began on Wednesday and will last until Friday.

The Tide have put together another elite class, and the team was able to successfully flip a wide receiver from his LSU commitment. Derek Meadows, a 4-star, officially signed with Alabama after originally committing to LSU in July.

“Welcome to the Rising Tide!” said the team’s official announcement post.

Meadows stars for Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, NV. The WR is rated as the No. 17 WR and the No. 3 prospect out of Nevada according to the 247Sports Composite ranking.

As a senior, Meadows caught 24 passes for 598 yards and 7 touchdowns. The talented prospect also excels in track and field and won the Nevada 2023 Gatorade Track and Field Player of the Year Award.

Before committing, Meadows received heavy interest from Texas A&M, Auburn, and Notre Dame,  among others. The WR unofficially visited Tuscaloosa in March and then went on an official visit to the school in June. Meadows becomes the 2nd high-profile WR recruit to flip from LSU joining Dakorien Moore.

The addition of Meadows gives the Tide the No. 2 class in the country currently. This class is headlined by 4 5-star and 14 4-star prospects. The addition of Meadows is important for the Tide as the team has only signed 1 other WR in the 2025 class.
