Alabama is adding a punter from the transfer portal.
After two seasons at Troy, Jack Martin is transferring to the Crimson Tide. The Northview (Dothan, Alabama) product announced his commitment on Saturday morning via his Twitter page.
Martin picked up scholarship offers from Troy, FIU, Grambling State and South Alabama as a class of 2019 recruit. He was pledged to South Alabama but flipped his commitment to Troy ahead of National Signing Day.
In two seasons at Troy, Martin played in 23 games. In 2019, he focused on kickoffs, playing in 12 games. This past season, Martin also punted 25 times, averaging 46.1 yards with a long of 66, earning first-team All-Sun Belt recognition.
AL.com’s Mike Rodak added an amusing note about punters named Jack Martin at Alabama:
Martin is from Dothan and played at Northview High School. Alabama also had a punter on its roster the past two seasons named Jack Martin who is from Mobile and played at McGill-Toolen.

I appreciate the opportunity Troy University gave me and all the support Troy has given me. Troy will always have a special place in my heart… Thanks pic.twitter.com/PnWjO622tn
