Nick Saban and Urban Meyer are two of the best coaches in college football, and they rarely lose. Saban boasts a winning percentage of 86 percent (114-18) during his Alabama tenure, while Meyer checks in at 85 percent as a Power 5 head coach (Florida and Ohio State).

Since Meyer left the SEC after the 2010 season, not many coaches have the opportunity to beat both Saban and Meyer in the same season. Clemson coach Dabo Swinney could join that club tonight, and be the first coach who did it outside the SEC.

Swinney has already made some history in this year’s College Football Playoff, as Clemson handed Meyer the first shutout of in his 194-game coaching career. The Tigers topped the Buckeyes 31-0 in the Fiesta Bowl to punch their ticket to Tampa.

Let’s also take a moment to remember just how wild the 2010 season was. In the final SEC standings, Alabama finished fourth in the SEC West with a conference record of 5-3 behind Auburn (8-0), Arkansas (6-2) and LSU (6-2). Miles and Spurrier make the list for handing Saban two of those losses will also getting the best of Meyer’s Gators in his final season on The Swamp sidelines. Auburn was the third team to beat Alabama that year, but Malzahn did not get a shot at Meyer.
