Alabama entered the week ranked No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings and in ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI).

The latter is no longer the case, as of Sunday morning, as the Tide have fallen from the No. 2 spot.

In the latest ESPN FPI rankings, Georgia still checks in at No. 1, but Ohio State has usurped Alabama for second place.

This comes on the heels of Ohio State embarrassing Michigan State on Saturday. Meanwhile, the Tide struggled at home against Arkansas, managing to hold on for a 42-35 victory.

Could this be a sign of things to come? Will the Buckeyes also jump the Tide in the CFP rankings on Tuesday night? The Coaches and AP Polls, both of which are released on Sunday afternoon, will provide the next clues as to how people are feeling about Ohio State vs. Alabama.

There’s no debate about the No. 1 spot, though. Georgia has that on lockdown.
