Alabama is the new favorite to win the national championship.

The Crimson Tide are +320 to win it all over at FanDuel — just ahead of Ohio State at +390. The big shift in the odds is a result of Alabama’s historically-dominant performance vs. Georgia in the first half.

Alabama took a 30-7 lead into the break. Led by Jalen Milroe — who is also now the betting favorite to win the Heisman — Alabama completely controlled this game from start to finish.

Offensively, Alabama has been dominant on Saturday night. The Crimson Tide scored touchdowns on their first 4 drives of the game. They also threatened Georgia on their next 2 drives, but those ended with a turnover on downs and an interception.

Alabama averaged 9.8 yards per play in the half — an elite total against any opponent, let alone a defense as strong as Georgia’s. It’s especially impressive because Georgia entered the night ranked No. 1 in explosive play defense nationally.

On the other side, Carson Beck had arguably the worst half of his career to-date. He threw 2 interceptions in the first half, giving him the first multi-interception game of his carer. He also took a safety late in the first half to make it a 30-7 game with 1:39 remaining in the second quarter.

This performance follows up what has been a dominant start to the season for Alabama. The Crimson Tide began the year with double-digit wins over Western Kentucky, South Florida and Wisconsin. However, none of those victories compare to what Kalen DeBoer and Alabama appear to be on their way to accomplishing on Saturday night.
