Alabama RB Damien Harris is having an outstanding 2017 season, even though he only gets around 10 carries a game.

A large part of Harris’s success was an offseason diet plan that helped him cut weight. Now he’s leaner and more explosive, and Alabama opponents are paying the price.

However, the diet plan wasn’t easy, as Harris had to give up honey buns, something he said on Monday was very difficult to do:

Harris has run 59 times for 500 yards and seven touchdowns this year in only six games. The junior has been the Crimson Tide’s best back as Bo Scarbrough continues to work his way back to full speed after breaking his leg in the national title game.

As long as Harris can keep laying off the honey buns, he and the Alabama running game should continue to dominate.

This week, it’s a struggling Arkansas defense that will be tasked with slowing down the Crimson Tide.
