Alabama appeared to be in great shape after a muffed punt by Auburn, and it may have scored one of the greatest touchdowns in the illustrious history of the Iron Bowl.

Auburn’s Koy Moore slipped when he tried to catch a punt, and the ball was recovered by Alabama’s Jihaad Campbell at the Auburn 30 with 4:48 to play. That came after the Auburn defense forced a 3-and-out to force a punt.

Jalen Milroe then on 3rd and 20 scrambled to the left side, and absorbed a punishing blow from Auburn’s Nehemiah Pritchett, who took a big blow himself. Facing 4th and 1, Alabama converted the first down with a toss sweep by Roydell Williams, who picked up 3 yards.

But then Alabama botched a snap, which lost 18 yards, and facing a 3rd and goal, Milroe rolled to the left, but stepped in front of the line of scrimmage and was flagged for an illegal forward pass.

Then Milroe scored an amazing 31-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Bond on 4th down with 32 seconds remaining.

That gave Alabama a 27-24 lead.
