Alabama’s transfer portal departures continue, with a linebacker looking to leave after three seasons in Tuscaloosa.

Kendrick Blackshire is the latest member of the SEC champions to opt for the portal, according to multiple reports.

A former Duncanville (Texas) High School standout, Blackshire has been at Alabama since the 2021 season. He played in 24 games and will be a true senior in the 2024 season.

As a freshman, Blackshire found playing time on special teams, appearing in nine games. He made 3 total tackles in the 2021 season.

Blackshire logged some snaps at middle linebacker while continuing to contribute on special teams. He played in eight games, missing the final five contests of the 2022 regular season due to injury before returning for the Sugar Bowl.

Blackshire’s Alabama bio notes he stepped into an expanded role as a linebacker in 2023, though he ended up making just 7 appearances. He recorded 16 tackles, including 2 TFLs. He also notched a forced fumble and fumble recovery.

Blackshire was a sought-after prospect in the 2021 recruiting class. He was rated 4-stars, the No. 30 player in the state of Texas, No. 21 linebacker and No. 168 prospect overall. He signed with Alabama over offers from 28 other programs.
