Alabama turns the tables on Lane Kiffin with punishing offense in first half
By Keith Farner

Alabama welcomed its former offensive coordinator to Tuscaloosa on Saturday, and showed Lane Kiffin how to deliver a punishing offense.
At one point during the first half, Alabama outgained Ole Miss 141-114. Some fans and media even referred to the performance as “murderball.” Kiffin used an aggressive approach and was 2-for-4 on fourth down attempts early on as the first 3 drives ended on downs twice, and a punt. Ole Miss had another drive end on fourth down with 6:00 remaining.
That caused several fans to question Kiffin’s pre-game comment to CBS Sports when he said, “get your popcorn ready.” For what, they asked.
Conversely, Alabama had scoring drives of 14 plays that covered 94 yards, and 10 plays that covered 47 yards to open the game. While Ole Miss struggled on key downs, Alabama, meanwhile, started the game 4-for-6 on third downs.
Alabama’s third touchdown drive of the first half was an efficient one, at 6 plays for 27 yards that was capped by a fourth down and one pass to Cameron Latu. Then the Crimson Tide tacked on another touchdown after an Ole Miss fumble.
Alabama is going old fashioned murderball on Lane Kiffin. Two drives, two touchdowns with 76 rushing yards and 65 passing.
It’s 14-0 Alabama after two possessions each.

Maybe this situation will get him okay with using that DUAL-THREAT ability he has. https://t.co/qJNahhZ8CV

Bryce Young has Jalen Hurts attitude with Tua’s arm and better footwork.

Bryce Young is very impressive. I think the 6th progression was Nick Saban. Looked like he checked the #Alabama sideline to see if anyone was open over there. #RollTide pic.twitter.com/NtwtfVfSqs
