Alabama silenced its critics Saturday night.

The Crimson Tide more than justified its No. 4 College Football Playoff ranking with a dominant 30-16 victory over previously undefeated LSU.

Sunday, the Crimson Tide rose even higher in Week 11 of Associated Press Top 25 Poll, jumping four spots to No. 3. They moved up three spots to No. 4 in the Coaches Poll.

The initial CFP ranking sparked criticism as many college football analysts said one-loss Alabama was judged on a different scale.

If anything, Alabama showed Saturday night that the ranking might have been too low.

Its AP ranking last week certainly was.

The Tide, which controls its destiny in the SEC West, faces another challenge Saturday when it travels to Mississippi State (3:30 p.m., ET, CBS).

Last year the Tide beat the Bulldogs when they were ranked No. 1 and undefeated.
