Montana Fouts has had a weekend to remember, and at least one fan wouldn’t mind if she continued her season some 200 miles to the east.

Fouts led the Crimson Tide softball team to an SEC Championship title on Saturday with a 4-0 victory over Florida as she struck out 11 batters in that game, and collected an SEC Tournament record 39 strikeouts over three games. The complete-game shutout was the first since Tennessee’s Monica Abbott in 2006. and Fouts was named the SEC Tournament MVP.

After the win on Saturday night, Fouts said, “Winning the tournament at home means everything after all the adversity we’ve faced and the injuries we’ve overcome this year. To us, this win signifies that anything is possible and that we can accomplish anything. It feels great to be a part of this university and for our team to contribute our own SEC championship, but we aren’t done yet and we have bigger dreams.”

On Twitter, a fan raised the idea that the Atlanta Braves should sign Fouts, and she later responded, “Okay fine you talked me into it, give me a couple more years in Tuscaloosa and (Dansby Swanson) can give me a call.”

Alabama will learn its postseason draw on the NCAA Tournament selection show at 8 tonight CT on ESPN2.
