Brace yourselves, Alabama fans: more bad news regarding the Crimson Tide football program broke on Tuesday following a weekend filled with arrests, dismissals and injuries.

Yet another Alabama player has run into legal trouble. This time, running back Tyren Jones was arrested by Tuscaloosa police with probable cause and charged with possession of marijuana, secnd degree.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department provided a media release in the aftermath of the arrest confirming that Jones and 25-year old Brandon Lee Hansberry were arrested on Tuesday morning.

According to the release, Jones and Hansberry were two of four passengers in a car pulled over by police for speeding. Officers noted a strong marijuana scent coming from the vehicle and upon searching the car found marijuana and a digital scale belonging to Hansberry. Officers also found a small amount of marijuana in Jones’ pocket, resulting in his arrest along with Hansberry. The other two passengers in the car were not arrested.

Per the release, Jones was bonded out at the front desk of the Tuscaloosa Police Department on $1,000 bond.

This incident does not bode well for Jones, who was already serving an indefinite suspension for a violation of team rules.

This arrest comes just days after safety Geno Smith was arrested for a driving under the influence early Saturday morning and Jonathan Taylor was arrested on multiple domestic violence charges, resulting in his dismissal from the team.

SDS will update this story as details are released.
