Amari Cooper is making it a very Merry Christmas for Cleveland Browns fans and fantasy owners of the former Alabama wide receiver.
Cooper came into the Week 16 game with a solid 61 catches for 985 yards. He decided to give a performance for the ages.
In the first half, Cooper notched 3 catches for 150 yards with a 75-yard touchdown. He did not slow down in the second half.
Cooper kept catching passes from Joe Flacco and put his name in the record books. The previous top receiving performance of the NFL season was DJ Moore’s 230-yard outing. Cooper is now the first Browns receiver to ever record multiple 1,000-yard seasons (2022, ’23).
Cooper has also joined Terrell Owens as the only other wide receiver to record 200-yard games with 3 different clubs. He didn’t stop at 200, Cooper went all the way to 265 receiving yards to break the Browns’ franchise record of 261 receiving yards in a game, set by Josh Gordon.
Amari Cooper had a 200-yard receiving game with the Raiders, with the Cowboys, and now the Browns.
He joins Terrell Owens (Cincinnati, Dallas, San Francisco) as the only players in NFL history to record 200-yard receiving games with 3 different teams.
