This offseason, the Green Bay Packers made the surprising decision to cut ties with star WR Jordy Nelson, and the Oakland Raiders moved quickly to scoop him up.

Now, Nelson will team up with former Alabama star Amari Cooper, giving the Raiders a lot of talent at the receiver position.

This week, Cooper said he’s learning a lot from the veteran Nelson, and he can’t wait to see what he, Nelson and Martavis Bryant can accomplish this fall (via Raiders.com):

“It’s been really cool,” Cooper explained. “Been learning a lot from Jordy, obviously with him being in the league for such a long time. He knows a lot and he’s always sharing his wisdom in the receiver room. It’s been cool being around Marty as well.”

After amassing more than 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons, Cooper hit a bit of a snag last year, but he did record a career-high seven touchdowns.

Having Nelson in the mix should open up more room for Cooper, so another big year could be on the horizon.
