The Atlanta Falcons are going to have a scary wide receiver combo on the field this year, with superstar Julio Jones pairing up with rookie first-round pick Calvin Ridley.

The two former Alabama stars instantly provide QB Matt Ryan with one of the best receiver tandems in the NFL, and Ridley is living up to expectations early.

According to teammates, like CB Desmond Trufant, Ridley is excelling at OTAs. Even coach Dan Quinn has liked what he’s seen from the former Crimson Tide standout (via AtlantaFalcons.com):

“Des may say he sees polished, I probably see explosive,” Quinn said. “I see a really aggressive player who’s really going for it in a big way. I don’t know if I would say polished yet, but I would say he’s definitely further along than most.”

Ridley won’t have as much pressure, due to Jones being lined up opposite him, but it’ll still be interesting to see how he performs as a rookie.

Based on early reports out of OTAs, he could be in for a big rookie season.
