One of the country’s elite defensive back recruits could find his way to Tuscaloosa.

Domani Jackson, ranked as the No. 2 cornerback and No. 6 overall player in the class of 2022 by 247Sports, has de-committed from USC. He announced the news on his Twitter account on Sunday evening:

The Mater Dai product originally planned to remain within the state of California as he pledged to the Trojans on Jan. 23. However, the dismissal of Clay Helton, along with the program’s ongoing head coaching search, certainly didn’t help matters when it came to USC keeping the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder into the fold.

But Jackson is a major Alabama target, visiting Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide on the weekend of Nov. 6 as they hosted LSU.

“It’s a school that provides you with everything you need to be successful,” he told 247Sports. “Nick Saban is the GOAT…[If] you go to Bama, you’re guaranteed to play for a National Championship every year and get to the (NFL).”

Jackson also told 247Sports that he would make a decision on Dec. 15 live on ESPN.
