Bo Scarbrough sends strong message to Alabama team about culture, toughness
Bo Scarbrough played at Alabama during the initial decade of dominance under Nick Saban. Scarbrough knows all about championship culture and mindset. The former Crimson Tide running back recently had a strong message for the 2022 squad.
During his weekly radio show, Saban shared that Scarbrough visited the team Thursday. Scarbrough told the current squad that, in his day, Alabama prided itself on being so physically tough the opposing team never wanted to see UA again.
Saban: “Bo Scarbrough was here today and he put his finger on the table and said, ‘When we played here, we were making sure that the other team, when the game was over, would say we never wanna play them again.’ … That’s the kind of culture that we want to recreate.”

Earlier in the show, Saban revealed that he feels heartbroken when former players tell him the Tide isn’t playing to the program’s cultural standard.
Nick Saban on his radio show: “When former players come back to me, it hurts my heart … that anybody that’s ever played here would think that anybody on this team is not playing to that culture and to that standard. That really breaks my heart because I’m responsible for that.”
