Alabama fans were upset over what appeared to be a bogus defensive pass interference call late in the first half of the lopsided game against Miami.
The play involved Daniel Wright of Alabama, a redshirt senior safety, defending against Charleston Rambo of Miami. The play with 5 seconds remaining in the first half ultimately led to a field goal by the Hurricanes after they received 15 yards on that play to move to the Alabama 20-yard line.
Rambo for the first half had 4 catches for 19 yards, but Miami overall was held in check to the tune of a 27-3 deficit at halftime. Miami mustered only 77 passing yards and 7 first downs to Alabama’s 18. The Canes also lost a fumble.
This is a HORRENDOUS DPI call… DB had his head turned and didn’t even do anything, Miami receiver had his arm extended LMAO pic.twitter.com/IK0mbWoOEE
