Bryce Young and CJ Stroud were the top 2 quarterbacks selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. Young went No. 1 to Carolina while Stroud went No. 2 to Houston.
The former Alabama and Ohio State QBs shared a moment on the field prior to Week 8’s matchup between Young’s Panthers and Stroud’s Texans:

It was fairly obvious that Young and Stroud were the 2 most complete quarterbacks in the draft, but Stroud has outplayed Young thus far to start their NFL careers.
Now, that’s far from a knock on Young. The former Alabama QB went to the worst team in the league with little help from his O-line and receiver corps. Most rookie QBs will struggle in that scenario, and Young has started out fine given the circumstances.
Stroud has been otherworldly for Houston, though. The Texans are 3-3 on the year with Stroud having thrown for 1,660 yards, 9 touchdowns and 1 interception. Those are fantastic numbers for a rookie.
As for Young, he’s thrown for 967 yards with 6 touchdowns and 4 interceptions, completing 63% of his passes. He looks to lead the Panthers to their first win of the season against Houston Sunday.
