Bryce Young has had a tumultuous season with the Carolina Panthers. After struggling to begin the year, the former Alabama quarterback was benched in favor of veteran Andy Dalton.
However, Dalton struggled as well and Young was reinserted. Since getting the starting job back, Young has improved. On Sunday, in a divisional matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Young made a clutch play to give his team the lead with under 1 minute to play.
The QB scrambled and found Adam Thielen in the end zone for a 25-yard score.

The score put the Panthers up 23-20 with 30 seconds in regulation. However, the Buccaneers would march down and get a field goal to send the game to overtime.
In regulation, Young completed 25 of 45 passes for 282 yards with 1 TD. The young QB also rushed for a TD that gave his team the lead in the 2nd quarter.
The Panthers would get a chance to pull off the win in OT, and Young even produced a key 3rd-down conversion with his arm. Unfortunately, Carolina would fumble the ball away immediately after and lose on a walk-off field goal by Tampa Bay.
This is more like the play that Alabama fans got accustomed to seeing from Young in college. Young was a member of the 2020 Alabam squad that won the national championship. The QB also won the Heisman Trophy and was a consensus All-American in 2021.
While in college, Young threw for 8,356 yards with 80 TDs and 12 INTs. The QB was selected by the Panthers as the No. 1 overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft after Carolina traded away an extensive package for the top pick.
Young’s Panthers have games against the Eagles, Cowboys, and Cardinals next on the docket.
