Bryce Young is among the top Heisman Trophy front-runners late in the 2021 season. And during Saturday’s first half against Arkansas, the Alabama sophomore quarterback showed exactly why.

Young threw a trio of touchdown passes that helped the Crimson Tide establish a 24-14 halftime lead over the Razorbacks at Bryant-Denny Stadium. And each of Young’s scoring throws was quite impressive.

First, Young pushed Alabama’s lead to 10-0 with a 20-yard touchdown pass to John Metchie III early in the second quarter. It was a great throw that capped a 9-play, 98-yard drive for the Crimson Tide:

But Young wasn’t done impressing before halftime. He later connected with Jameson Williams for a 79-yard touchdown that extended Alabama’s lead to 17-7:

Young connected with Williams again, as he threw a 32-yard touchdown pass that made it 24-14:

Young had a strong first half, as he went 14-for-19 for 287 yards.
