Bryce Young and his injured shoulder were top of mind for Nick Saban as he shared the latest information on Young with CBS Sports after the Alabama quarterback suffered a shoulder injury early in the second quarter on Saturday against Arkansas.

Jalen Milroe filled in for Young for the rest of the game as Alabama won 49-26.

Saban talked with Jenny Dell of CBS Sports after the game.

“What I’d like to talk about is our team,” Saban said. “Our team just won a game on the road. Wasn’t pretty all the time, but they made plays when they had to make them. We love Bryce, Bryce has got a sprained shoulder. Hopefully we’ll get some diagnosis on him and see how he goes. But what about the game, what about the team, what about the players that played the game.”

Saban said Jahmyr Gibbs played great, made some big runs, and Milroe went in and made some big plays.

“The defense made some plays, we made some horrible mistakes on special teams, but we overcame it, but there’s a lot that we can learn from this game today and hopefully our team will get better because of it,” Saban said.

Young was 7-for-13 passing for 173 yards with a touchdown and interception. He also added 2 carries for 4 yards, and on one of those rushes, Young appeared to suffer the injury on a play near the sideline on a tackle by Arkansas’ Drew Sanders.
