Former Alabama wide receiver Tyrone Prothro was hired by the Carolina Panthers as an intern coach for training camp Wednesday. Prothro played under current Panthers offensive coordinator and former Tide head coach Mike Shula from 2003-’05 before suffering a career-ending leg injury against Florida on Oct 1, 2005.

Prothro recorded 863 yards, five touchdowns and 58 receptions in 26 games during his three seasons at Alabama. He also provided one of the best catches in college football history shown in the video below:
The Panthers will begin training camp on July 28 at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.
