Chris Braswell was ejected in the 1st quarter of the Alabama-Chattanooga game after a targeting call against him was upheld.

With just over 6 minutes played, the Alabama linebacker sacked Mocs quarterback Luke Schomburg for a 9-yard loss, but his helmet appeared to have made contact with Schomburg’s facemask. After an initial targeting call was made by officials, it was upheld following a review and Braswell was forced to exit.

Since the targeting ejection came in the 1st half, Braswell will be eligible to play the entirety of the Iron Bowl against Auburn despite sitting out the remainder of the contest against Chattanooga. He had been credited with 36 tackles and 7.5 sacks before Saturday’s game along with an interception and 2 forced fumbles.

That said, the Tide are rolling in this one in what was widely expected to be a tuneup before facing the Tigers on Nov. 25. They lead the Mocs 21-0 late in the 1st quarter.
