Chris Doering made a statement that stood out so much to co-host Peter Burns on “SEC This Morning” that Burns replayed the statement later in the show.

Discussing Alabama football, Doering believes the Crimson Tide won’t be able to replicate the earlier success they enjoyed at the beginning of the Nick Saban era.

“Are those best years of Alabama football behind that program? I would probably say yes,” Doering said. “The bar was set incredibly high, a lot of national championships won in a short period of time. Georgia now, the rise of what they’re doing, taking the blueprint from Tuscaloosa and implementing it at Athens. And the most successful prodigy of Nick Saban’s that anybody’s been able to go out and repeat.”

Doering recalled how many hires were made from the Alabama staff, and a program wasn’t able to replicate the Alabama success until Kirby Smart at Georgia.

This continues a theme that Alabama players and coaches have discussed earlier in the week, including JC Latham, who said Alabama would win it all.
