Chris Doering went big on Ole Miss last week ahead of the Alabama matchup, and has quickly come down from that position.

The SEC Network analyst wrote on Twitter that he was wrong following Alabama’s thorough beat down of the Rebels, 42-21.

“Congrats to @AlabamaFTBL and their fans. Total domination due to flawless execution of a great game plan in all 3 phases. I WAS WRONG, THEY ARE ELITE! Can’t wait to see them play @GeorgiaFootball in Atlanta in December.”

To review Doering’s pick, he shared a “perfect recipe” for the potential upset during “SEC This Morning” on the SEC Network.

“The matchup of this Ole Miss offense against a defense that’s not as typically disciplined that we’ve seen from Alabama defenses,” said Doering. “The ability to run the football, the way they use tempo, misdirection is gonna the front seven for Alabama a hard time. They’ve misfit a lot of runs so far this season. That combined with an improved defense, and an Alabama offense that has a lot of young players that are still trying to find their way.”

Between Ole Miss’ failed fourth down conversions, and Alabama’s ball-control offense, Doering proved to be off base with his selection.
