Chris Doering took a shot at the Miami Dolphins’ coaching staff while he praised Nick Saban for his handling of Bryce Young and his shoulder injury on Saturday against Arkansas.

“I think it’s timely to talk about coaches who do the right thing by their players,” Doering said on SEC Network’s “SEC Football Final.” “Bryce Young maybe could have gone back in, they didn’t know the extent of the injury. It becomes a 5-point ballgame, 28-23, I’m sure they were tempted to put him back in the ballgame, but Nick Saban did the right thing by keeping his guy on the sideline and protecting him from himself, protecting him from his own competitiveness, something we didn’t see this week by other coaches.”

Dari Nowkah then chimed in and said it was something that didn’t happen this week for another Saban quarterback in Miami Dolphins’ QB Tua Tagovailoa. Tagovailoa was injured on Thursday with a concussion against the Cincinnati Bengals after he took another hard hit on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. He left Thursday’s game on a stretcher and was taken to a local hospital.
