During the second half of Saturday’s College Football Playoff semifinal against Oklahoma, star Alabama LB Christian Miller pulled his hamstring.

Now, his availability for Monday’s championship game against Clemson is in question, but he’s doing what he can to play.

Per Miller’s dad, Corey, the linebacker is day-to-day, but wants to do everything possible to take the field against a team from his home state of South Carolina (via AL.com):

“He’s just working,” Corey Miller said of Christian. “He’s day to day. I can tell you they are doing everything they can to try and get him ready with treatment and rehab. They are playing a team he’s familiar with. We’re from the state of South Carolina. I cover Clemson. He was recruited by Clemson. As a matter of fact, Clemson was the first team to offer him. It means a lot to him to get on the field with his brothers and try to win another national championship.”

The senior linebacker recorded 34 tackles this season (11 for a loss) and had eight sacks, so having him healthy against Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence will be important.

His status will be one to watch in the coming days.
