Clemson coach takes jab at Alabama's schedule after Tigers drop in polls
Clemson coaches must be getting a bit bored considering the ACC slate the Tigers have and will face over the rest of the season as the reigning national champions try to pull off a repeat. So bored that one coach is now taking shots at Alabama after the Tigers dropped in the polls this week.
“I think somebody told me yesterday that we’ve won five games by 31 points or more and you look at Bama, who’s No. 1, and they’ve won three, and two of them were vs. Group of 5,” Clemson co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott said according to 247Sports. “It’s not really the rhetoric that we are seeing out there. I think it’s just natural when you’ve won as many games as we’ve won, I mean I can remember as a college football fan that gets old at some point when somebody else is winning that much.
“For us, we really just laugh about it and joke around about it. Somebody said the other day if we keep winning at this rate, we’ll be out of the top 10 by December. So we kind of laugh about it for a little bit.”
What’s funny is that Scott just can’t let Clemson’s 44-16 victory over the Crimson Tide in last year’s national title game stand for itself but hey, when you are starting to feel a bit paranoid, that is when you start becoming defensive.
