Clemson's post-game celebration features pair of favorite Alabama songs
Post-game locker room celebrations often reveal raw emotions, and that was certainly the case on Monday night in and around Santa Clara, California.
Clemson picked two classic Alabama songs to celebrate the 44-16 victory: “Dixieland Delight” and “Sweet Home Alabama.”
In a locker room video posted, it appears the players tried to encourage coach Dabo Swinney to dance to “Sweet Home Alabama,” as the Alabama native was surrounded by several players. Then on the bus to the hotel, Clemson listened to “Dixieland Delight” and inserted “Roll Tide” into the song.
All of this speaks to bottled up emotions that the players, and sometimes coaches, feel they need to release after days and weeks of build up to the College Football Playoff.
Another example that to the victors go the spoils. And it’s safe to say that these songs will take on different meanings around Clemson and Upstate, South Carolina in the years to come.
