Colin Cowherd, Joel Klatt discuss Tua Tagovailoa's best NFL comparison
Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa is on the cusp of being a top-rated quarterback in the NFL Draft, and the comparisons are already rolling in about how he would stack up in the NFL. Colin Cowherd and Joel Klatt of Fox Sports recently discussed the current NFL QB that they see in Tagovailoa.
Cowherd: “What do you make of Tua as a prospect? Is he Russell Wilson left-handed?”
Klatt: “I think at his best, yes. He’s not as sturdy as Russell. That’s one thing that gets lost, ‘Russell’s a small quarterback’, yeah but he’s thick. He’s very sturdy. I don’t know how sturdy Tua is in that respect. But I will tell you this thing: I think that there’s a bottom-line proposition to playing the position in the NFL, do you get the ball on target and on time? … He throws it on target and on time as well as anybody.”
Klatt added that Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts is increasing his NFL stock during a segment in which Cowherd opened by talking about young quarterbacks bringing a new energy to the NFL. Cowherd said he believes each NFL team that has moved on from an older quarterback to a young QB is happy today.
“I believe that Saturday is the defining moment of the Jim Harbaugh era. If Michigan wins, there’s at least hope. It’s in-defendable if they lose this weekend.” — @JoelKlatt pic.twitter.com/KtFOYhYA25
