College GameDay will be providing some extra coverage from Tuscaloosa on Saturday.

In addition to the 3-hour morning show, the GameDay crew will also provide pregame and halftime coverage from Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium, ESPN has announced.

GameDay host Rece Davis visited The Paul Finebaum Show to explain the expanded coverage is because GameDay is still a college football pregame show, not just an Alabama-Georgia pregame show.

“Georgia-Alabama will be the centerpiece of it (GameDay). We will revisit it numerous times, but the charge and the mandate (is) still to cover the entire day of college football,” Davis said on Finebaum. “So it won’t be a Georgia-Alabama pregame show, however, leading up to kickoff after the afternoon games on ABC, we will be on the field and it will be an Alabama-Georgia a pregame show. And we’ll be there at halftime as well and looking forward to the extended coverage that this game of this magnitude deserves.”

For GameDay, Davis will be joined at the desk by analysts Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban. Insider Pete Thamel, college football betting analyst ‘Stanford Steve’ Coughlin and reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims will also be on hand.

While Saban has already been back at Bryant-Denny Stadium this season, Saturday will be his first GameDay in Tuscaloosa since retiring. Herbstreit will be on the ABC call of the game with Chris Fowler in the booth and Holly Rowe on the sidelines.

The top-5 clash is set for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff, airing on ABC and streaming on ESPN+.
