Controversy in Atlanta? Officials did not review Alabama's crucial 4th-down catch
Alabama and Georgia are duking it out in the SEC Championship Game Saturday evening, and the Crimson Tide headed into halftime with a 17-7 lead over the No. 1 Bulldogs.
However, one play for Alabama late in the first half drew some attention on social media. That play involved a 22-yard catch for Isaiah Bond that went for 22 yards on 4th-and-4. It was also a crucial play that kept a drive alive and led to Jermaine Burton’s touchdown in the final minute of the half.
As for Bond’s catch, it was a diving grab near the sideline that was not reviewed before Alabama ran an ensuing play. That was notable to a number of fans due to the nature of Bond’s catch.
With the receiver sliding to the ground, the ball did appear to move as he tried to control the ball:
damn that Isaiah Bond catch should have been reviewed? might have been incomplete pic.twitter.com/mM3cEEa2BS

Many fans felt the play should have absolutely went to review while others even believed the catch would have been overturned had the play gone to review:
This might be the biggest play of the CFB season and it wasn’t even reviewed https://t.co/hgGtkZGzDW

They went hurry up and Smart didn’t use his timeout to stop it. Booth has never been as quick as you think it might be.
