The Crimson Tide got after it this weekend inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Thanks to Alabama, we have an idea of how that went over as the team provided some highlights of the first scrimmage of fall camp.
Following the scrimmage, Nick Saban met with the media for a press conference and while he didn’t provide too much insight into the practice game, the Alabama coach did offer up his thoughts on the quarterback most in Tuscaloosa expect to start this fall.
“I think Mac did some good things. I think he had like three touchdown passes and was 21-for-36,” Saban said over the weekend. “But I just think Mac’s gotta play within himself, be confident, be positive, not beat himself up when he makes bad plays, and that’s part of the maturity level of a competitor that his game experience is gonna help him to do.
“I think experiences leading up to the game will help him do, as well. I think the other guys, they’ve got work to do. Just pace of play, speed of the game. The game speeds up, the rush speeds up. You’ve got to be comfortable being uncomfortable with how fast the game goes. I think those guys are going to improve with the experiences they have relative to that.”
