The No. 1 seed in the 2021 SEC Tournament has advanced as top-ranked Alabama just crushed No. 9 Mississippi State 85-48 on Friday.

Jahvon Quinerly led Alabama with 14 points in the game while Mississippi State’s Iverson Molinar led all scorers with 18 points in the game.

The only bad news for the Crimson Tide came when freshman standout Josh Primo suffered an injury and did not return to the court.

Following the game, Nate Oats was asked to share the latest update on Primo’s status.

“Something with the knee, that’s all we know,” Oats offered up. “They are taking him to Vanderbilt (hospital) to have some tests run.”

With this win, Alabama moves on to the semifinals and will face the winner of the upcoming Tennessee-Florida game on Saturday.
