The Clemson Tigers absolutely dominated the Alabama Crimson Tide in the College Football Playoff title game this year, but the narrative afterward hasn’t exactly involved Clemson that much.

Instead, many wonder if this was the end of the Alabama dynasty, as the Tide couldn’t do much of anything against the high-octane Tigers.

On Wednesday, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney took issue with that, saying it shouldn’t be crazy for people to say that Clemson just had the better team this season:

On Wednesday, the Crimson Tide put the finishing touches on the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class — a historically good group of players. The Tigers, meanwhile, finished with the No. 10 overall class, per the 247Sports composite.

Will these two powerhouses meet up in the title game again next year? It won’t be easy, but they’ll certainly be favored to do so.
