Former SEC head coach and current ESPN analyst Dan Mullen said he thinks Alabama coach Nick Saban could go towards a 2-quarterback system for the 2023 season.

Mullen joined the “Matt Barrie Show” to discuss his thoughts on the options Alabama has on offense.

Looking to replace the talent of Bryce Young, Mullen believes the Tide could utilize multiple quarterbacks for different situations. He praised Saban for his ability to adapt to changes in the game as they happen.

“One thing that makes him great is that he’s never been afraid to evolve, never been afraid to try new things or make decisions,” Mullen said. “I wouldn’t be surprised to see a multiple quarterback system this year at Alabama.”

He also took a jab at his former SEC counterpart, claiming that there is likely a video of Saban saying that he would never have a 2-quarterback system.

But only time will tell if Saban will look to multiple quarterbacks throughout the season. The Tide will begin the 2023 campaign Sept. 2 against MTSU.
