Add Danny Kanell to the list of Alabama doubters following the release of the first College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night.

The college football analyst appeared Wednesday on ESPN Radio to share his thoughts on the selection committee’s emphasis on the SEC and its strength of schedule.

“The smartest thing I said yesterday was that they love the SEC,” Kanell said. “The committee loves the SEC and I think I was proven right. And I don’t really have a problem with that. But I think what I do have a problem with is that I think they love Bama more than anything. I thought their love for the SEC was great. I think Bama … they just judge them on a different scale.

“That would be my first problem with it.”

Kanell pointed out Alabama’s home loss to Ole Miss and mentioned several other unbeaten teams that had an argument for placement in the top four.

“Bama at four is definitely my biggest issue,” Kanell said. “I think they are 100 percent graded on a different scale. They get more benefit of the doubt.”

He later said Florida has ‘a legit beef’ as to why its not ranked inside the top four with its only loss coming at LSU.
