Darius Miles arrest: Judge makes ruling on former Alabama basketball player's request for bond

Darius Miles was arrested and charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Jamea Jonae Harris on Jan. 15. He allegedly provided the gun that was used by Michael Davis in the fatal shooting, according to police.

On Tuesday, a court hearing was held to discuss potential bond for Miles, who is still being held at the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

But, per Nick Kelly of the Tuscaloosa News, the district court judge has denied bond for Miles after Tuesday’s hearing:

Per Kelly, the ruling stated that there was sufficient evidence to establish probable cause in order to hold Miles in custody:

From the ruling: " The court, having heard the evidence in a preliminary hearing, finds sufficient evidence was presented to establish probable cause that the offense charged was committed by the Defendant. The matter is bound over to the Grand Jury"

Miles was kicked off of the Alabama basketball team after the shooting. He had been out for a while prior to his arrest due to an injury.

As for why Alabama freshman Brandon Miller wasn’t charged for allegedly bringing the gun to Miles (the owner of the weapon) before the shooting? AL.com’s Carol Robinson explained on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Tuesday:
