Texas fired head coach Tom Herman last week and hired Alabama OC Steve Sarkisian to replace him.
Sark will stay with the Tide through Monday night’s College Football Playoff title game, then he’ll head off to Austin. Could he and Herman just switch locations, potentially?
On this week’s “CFB Podcast with Herbie, Pollack and Negandhi,” ESPN analyst David Pollack suggested that Herman should give Nick Saban a call (via 247Sports):
“Tom Herman should go to Nick Saban rehab,” Pollack said. “It works for everybody. Go do it. Go with Nick Saban with all the other head coaches, and you’ll get a job. Go learn. Go learn how he runs his processes and how he runs his businesses and go take that opportunity to go get your next stint and become a head coach that’s a little bit better of a head coach. You’ve learned a little bit more. We should all be evolving. We’re not all finished products ever.”
Herman was Ohio State’s offensive coordinator in 2014, when the Buckeyes beat the Tide en route to a title in the first-ever College Football Playoff.
Will he end up in Tuscaloosa? There are sure to be plenty of moving parts in Alabama this offseason.
