You can’t blame Julio Jones for wanting to take advantage of the last few remaining days before Falcon veterans are scheduled to report in Atlanta for fall camp. That being said, it’s easy to call out his mistake of wearing a $100,000 diamond before hopping on a jet ski.
According to WXIA-TV in Atlanta, Jones lost the diamond earring on Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Ga., after he fell into the water after hitting the wake from another vessel. Jones emerged unhurt but without one of his diamond earrings. The lake bottom is around 65-feet deep where Jones fell into the water.
WXIA-TV claims the earring was valued at over $100,000. When asked about the diamond, Jones didn’t conceal the fact it would be a substantial loss.
“Yeah, it was worth a little bit,” Jones said.
A local dive and rescue team has been hired to find the earring at the pitch black bottom of the lake.
It’s been a tough few months for Jones as his offseason started with the loss of one valuable ring and appears to have now ended with the loss of another valuable piece of jewelry.
