Deionte Thompson’s legal issues stemming from an off the field incident during the offseason back in early 2017 has finally come to an end.

Thompson, a former four-star prospect out of Orange, Texas, was accused of being involved in a physical confrontation that left a young man beaten. Thompson was one of four suspects accused of beating Texas resident Noah Frillou back in March of 2017. Following that accusation, Thompson was charged with assault in Texas.

While he had that charge hanging over his head for some time, the charge against Thompson has now been dropped, according to multiple reports. Matt Zenitz of AL.com was the first to report this news.

This is good news for Thompson as he is currently preparing for the upcoming NFL Draft.

Following the conclusion of the college football season, Thompson declared early for the 2019 NFL Draft instead of returning to Alabama for one final season. Thompson was a consensus first-team All-American during his only season as a full-time starter in 2018. The SEC coaches also honored Thompson as a First-Team All-SEC selection in 2018.
