Derrick Henry pays off $10,000 in layaway for Nashville families

Derrick Henry has given the people of Nashville plenty to cheer about in 2019 as the running back for the Tennessee Titans. The former Alabama standout went the extra step in spreading some holiday cheer by surprising 50 families shopping at Burlington in the 100 Oaks shopping mall by paying off $10,000 in layaway.

“In the holiday season, I think it’s always a blessing to be a blessing for someone else,” Henry said.

Henry partnered with the non-profit organization Pay Away the Layaway.

Henry and the Titans will be facing the Houston Texans on Sunday. Tennessee is in with a win over the Texans, or some outside help in the case of a loss or a tie.
