DeVonta Smith identifies biggest difference between Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones
As a four-year contributor, Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith has experience catching passes from Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones. FOX college football analyst Reggie Bush asked Smith what the differences are between the three most recent Alabama signal-callers.
Smith cited “approach” as the first thing that came to mind. He went out of order discussing the QBs, starting with Tua Tagovailoa. According to Smith, Tagovailoa specialized in being to adjust and adapt mid-play. Smith says that Jones, on the other hand, is more likely to stick to the script. Hurts was a “student of the game” according to Smith and would point out observations on the next play, anticipating the defense to do the same thing on future downs.
The brief clip, shared by FOX College on Football on Twitter, is just a teaser for a full interview on YouTube with Smith dubbed “Reggie Bush’s Power Player of the Week.”
