Dominick Welch is heading to Alabama to continue his college basketball transfer. The St. Bonaventure grad transfer announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide on Wednesday via his Twitter account.

The Buffalo, New York native heads to Tuscaloosa to play for former University of Buffalo coach Nate Oats after 4 seasons at St. Bonaventure. Welch played in 110 games for the Bonnies, making 105 starts. He’ll be using the NCAA’s COVID-19 for a “super senior” fifth year of eligibility in 2022-23.

In the 2021-22 season, Welch started all 33 games for St. Bonaventure. Per game, Welch averaged 6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 12.3 points on 41.4% field-goal shooting over 37.5 minutes. He was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Feb. 21, 2022.

Nick Kelly of The Tuscaloosa News notes that the addition of Welch leaves UA with one remaining scholarship.
